I love staying at this hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful, it has a decent buffet breakfast. Location is great. Just needs to be refurbished! But staying in this Soviet era hotel has its charm.

Hotel staff are polite and very accommodating,they fulfilled most request during my week long stay.
However, the TV in the room only offers Russian and Kazakh programs tho there’s a lot of non Russian/Kazakh speaking guest.
Wide variety of breakfast but gets repetitive during a long stay. Spa/sauna is complimentary but almost impossible to book, partly lost in translation as the staff in charge doesn’t speak much English and it’s always occupied for some reason.

A classic Soviet icon building, beautiful lobby, that's where it ends. The rooms are ANCIENT - old big-box tv in the room, no safe and no refrigerator as advertised. Drilling noises in the early morning from my room. Old mattresses lying on the bedroom floors. Rooms clearly haven't been updated for 30 years.
No sockets placed conveniently in room so have to put the tea tray on the floor to use it. Insane! No thought put into the comfort for guests using the room. Treated like a number instead of a guest.
Not enough staff on reception. Breakfast very good but busy. Have a look inside and get a bite to eat maybe, but stay someplace else!

It's a very well know hotel with beautiful outlook. There's a grand ballroom on the Ground floor next to the entrance which could be rather noisy for guests even till 11pm. They at first tried to put me to a room on a floor under overhaul renovation which is dim and dirty with renovationn debris and tools everywhere (see pics posted). I refused and insisted to have a change. The changed one is much normal.

It is an old property with Soviet Union Style. Room layout is a bit weird to me, we booked a queen-sized bed room for 2 adults and they gave us something like a room with connect room of 1 single bed. Bathroom is small and old, dont expect much. The only good things is the breakfast spread with wide variety of dishes both local and international. Great selection for cheese & cold cut.
Staff are friendly & helpful but I have an impression that they are understaff as both check-in & check-out need to wait for quite a while. Staff can speak English but not fluent.

The hotel location was excellent and room was literally okay and breakfast options was good no international charger point so don't forget to take your international connector and wifi is very poor of your planned to use wifi for your job you will surely face problems very slow network

KAZAKSTAN Hotel was build by Soviet Union in 50 years back but now operating by Hayat . This is my second stay in this hotel
